    Job Description

    DLZ Corporation is looking for a self-motivated Civil Engineer Intern for our Cleveland, Ohio office. We are looking for someone with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Our experienced Engineers and Project Managers will train and mentor a currently enrolled Civil Engineering student in our Transportation Engineering department.


    Job Duties:

    • Create engineering drawings in CAD programs (Microstation and or AutoCAD)
    • Quantity calculations in transportation related fields.
    • Engineering calculations in transportation related fields.
    • Perform Bridge condition inspections and other field tasks in transportation related fields.
    • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Enrolled in a degree program for civil engineering
    • Willingness to work flexible hours
    • Ability to quickly learn new tasks and procedures/critical thinking
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
    • Ability to self-motivate and work productively with limited supervision
    • Working knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Office, Microstation, and AutoCAD
    • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.

    This will be a part-time position starting in the fall of 2018. Full-time hours may be available during the spring and summer of 2019.
